Tell us about your role: When did you join Temenos?
I joined Temenos in Romania at the beginning of 2015 . Currently, I’m part of the Business Solutions Group in Germany, working as Senior Business Intelligence Solutions Consultant.
What attracted you to join Temenos?
One of the main things that made me choose Temenos was allowing me to combine travelling with work and be part of an international team.
Tell us about your journey within Temenos:
My first role was as a Technical Business Intelligence Consultant, and I was travelling a lot to implement the Temenos Analytics solution at customers. As I was coming from a Data Analysis background, this helped me understand the product and apply all my technical knowledge, which enabled me to grow more and more here with Temenos.
I could say I was lucky to be part of a brilliant smaller team at the beginning, which made things so much better and I feel I truly received all the support needed to succeed in my job.
Tell us about yourself – what are you passionate about? Who are you outside the workplace?
My two biggest passions are photography and travelling. I love sightseeing, meeting new cultures and experience the local cuisine. I am a real foodie, so it’s rather important to have a culinary experience when I’m on a trip as I love cooking and baking as well. I find photography binds them all, as I love immortalizing specific moments from my trips, be it a particular location that I’m visiting or the food I’m having along the way.
How do you think your passions/personal life link to your career?
So far, I think I’ve been able to maintain a perfect balance between my personal and professional life: one is a very technical and structured, whilst the other is slightly more relaxing, creative and unstructured allowing myself to doze off but also to recharge with energy.
How do you think Temenos has helped you move forward in achieving your career goals so far?
By challenging me every day to push myself, which something I’m grateful for; I could say I’ve been fortunate with Temenos to be part of fantastic teams that support each other and the team oriented attitude is impressive throughout the organization.
We pride ourselves with being a truly international company, representing over 90 nationalities and with clients all over the world. What does that mean for you? How do you feel it reflects in your day-to-day?
To start with, I’m a Romanian living in Germany and working in English all day. I consider myself quite an international person, I speak several languages and through my job at Temenos I get to interact with people from all over the world every day – I could be talking to someone from Australia at one moment and then to someone in Canada later that day – it’s really amazing.
What is the most important thing you’ve learned so far in Temenos?
To stay true to yourself, work hard, and rest assured that your efforts will be recognized & be rewarded.
What do you enjoy the most at Temenos?
I think simply being part of Temenos, which is the leading company in the industry of banking software, is amazing in itself and just knowing that you’re part of a company that is revolutionising the world of banking is incredible.
But more so, I enjoy being part of the Business Solutions Group family, with outstanding colleagues; great team-work, the culture in the company. The fact that I’m still allowed to be creative and innovative to deliver is something you don’t find everywhere.
What advice would you give to someone looking to take their career in Fin Tech to the next level?
Stay true to yourself, be creative, innovative and persevere.
