In an effort to recognize and celebrate our talented colleagues, we’d like to share some inspirational stories from their time at Temenos, from previous employment and from their personal lives too.
1. When did you join Temenos? Tell us about your role.
I joined Temenos in 2010 via the Odyssey acquisition. I have spent the past several years in both product management as well as development management roles in our Wealth solutions. Today I have the opportunity to manage a talented global team delivering our Wealth Front Office and Wealth Datasource software solutions.
2. What do you think makes Temenos unique (as an employer)? What made you join the company?
While I joined Temenos through acquisition, we all have choices to stay or not. It is the culture of competitiveness in the company that made me stay. The energy by all groups to get to the next level, not catch up but be ahead of our competition and do it while having fun is what I find to be unique about Temenos. I still recall a few years ago at the end of GSM, several groups ended up at the same restaurant by coincidence. With the arrival of each group there was a lot of laugher, and warm greetings. An elderly gentlemen at a table next to us asked ‘What company do you work for? Seeing this level of energy amongst co-workers is unique and this is a company I want to invest in!’. It was a good feeling and seeing how our share price has performed in the past few years I’m sure he’s happy with his decision.
3. What do you enjoy the most at Temenos?
I have to say I enjoy the global reach of our client base. While it can get exhausting at times, I do love visiting different places and cultures and have enjoyed having the opportunity to visit so many cities and meet clients and Temenos staff all over the world.
4. If you were to describe working at Temenos in a single phrase, what would that be?
Go wherever, whenever to get the job done!
5. If you think about the future, what do you look forward to in your journey at Temenos?
The future at Temenos looks very exciting. We clearly have leaped ahead of others with our Digital Strategy at a time when banks are finding they must adopt a digital strategy to stay relevant.
6. What does the “People Power” Value mean to you and how do you relate to it?
To me People Power means having the ability to make decisions without bureaucracy. I am not one to enjoy micro-management and I have enjoyed working with a leadership group that allows me to make decisions and do what is necessary to meet client and staff needs.
