Paykey and Finn.Ai Announced as Finalists at Temenos’ Miami Innovation Jam
The two FinTechs will progress to the final global round in Lisbon, Portugal
MIAMI, FL – March 17, 2017 – Temenos (SIX: TEMN), the software specialist for banking and finance, today announces that PayKey, has been selected as the winner of the Miami Innovation Jam.
Leading the audience votes, the company demonstrated the functionality behind their unique offering, which makes payments in all social network chats possible. In conjunction with the audience voting, a second competition was held at the Innovation Jam where Finn.ai, a Vancouver, Canada-based startup, who showcased their virtual bank assistant powered by artificial intelligence, was selected by a panel of industry experts.
The Miami event, which hosted the 15 FinTechs at the Private Key Club along with financial institutions from across North and South America, is the second of the Innovation Jam series. The series is comprised of regional, demo-based events, geared toward bringing FinTechs and banks together around the latest breakthroughs in technology. Following the event’s theme of facilitating closer collaboration between FinTechs and financial institutions, during the event Aaron Phethean, director of Temenos MarketPlace, spoke about why banking is better with FinTechs, while best-selling author and host of Breaking Banks, Brett King discussed the first principles in disruption, design and user experience.
The two first-place winners from each of the regional events at Abu Dhabi, Miami, London, Singapore and Geneva will go on to compete in the final round being held at the Temenos Community Forum in Lisbon, Portugal next month. The final winner will join the Temenos ecosystem of FinTech providers and partners and become a part of the award-winning Temenos MarketPlace. This digital store provides the winner with access to up to 2,000 banks and credit unions and over 500 million banking customers. Meanwhile Temenos clients can also profit from the latest technology innovations and deploy them directly into their business solutions.
Dario Mutabdzija, President, PayKey, commented:
“We are honored to have won the Miami Innovation Jam, and are looking forward to the opportunity to present at the annual Temenos Community Forum. This has been a great opportunity for PayKey, and we’re thrilled to now be able to showcase our technology during the final round in Portugal, in front of over 1,000 Temenos clients, partners and guests from around the world.”
Jake Tyler, Co-founder and CEO, Finn.ai, shared:
“We are proud to have been recognized as an innovative FinTech leader by a panel that included FinTech guru Brett King. Artificial Intelligence and conversational assistants – ‘bots’ – are changing how consumers bank and where they bank. This is a big opportunity for forward thinking incumbent banks and we’re excited to be able to share our unique offering with the audience at the Temenos Community Forum, on a global stage.”
Enrique Ramos O’Reilly, Regional Director, Temenos, stated:
“During this event we saw a diverse range of ways that FinTechs are contributing to the financial services industry. What makes these events important, is not only these new and innovative ideas being shared, but banks and providers and FinTech startups coming together for a common goal: to create value for the customers, thus building revenue and propelling the industry forward.”
