GENEVA, Switzerland, 4th April 2013 – Temenos Group (SIX: TEMN), the market-leading provider of mission-critical software to the financial services industry, today announces that Forrester Research has named Temenos as both a ‘Global Power Seller’ and a ‘Top Global Player’ in its March 2013 report, “Global Banking Platform Deals 2012”.

The independent survey assessed 29 vendors across banking platform functionality, the volume and geographical spread of new customer wins in 2012 and the number and geographical spread of deals signed with existing clients in 2012.

For the 8th consecutive year, Forrester awarded Temenos the highest status of “Global Power Seller”, reflecting the fact that it signed more than 35 new name deals across more than 6 regions of the World, including significant wins at Nordea Bank and Members Equity Bank in Australia.

In addition, Temenos was also the only vendor to be awarded the status of “Top Global Player”. This is a new, secondary category which takes into account sales to both new and existing customers. To achieve the highest status of “Top Global Player” requires a vendor to achieve at least 75 customer sales in a minimum of 6 regions.

In highlighting Temenos as the market leading vendor in global banking platform deals, the report from Forrester reinforces the findings from other independent analysis, such as the International Banking Systems 2013 League Table, which showed Temenos’ T24 solution as the best-selling core banking application in 2012.

Commenting on the results David Arnott, CEO of Temenos, said:

I am delighted that Forrester has once again identified Temenos as the leading global player in the banking software market. Receiving this honour for the 8th consecutive year is testament to Temenos’ depth of financial services knowledge combined with our rich, multi-product offering. What is more, being recognised as a “Top Global Player” validates our business model, built on high R&D channelled back into a concentrated suite of packaged and upgradeable applications, which leads to the highest levels of customer success and repeat business.

Jost Hoppermann, Vice President and Principal Analyst Forrester within the report states:

We counted extended business banking platform deals and analysed them in conjunction with new named deals. This combined approach will help assess a given vendor’s current market footprint, while analysing new named deals alone will help assess a vendor’s ability to expand its market footprint”. He continues, “Presence in this top category requires at least 75 counted combined deals – new named deals plus extended business deals – in at least six regions of the world. Temenos is the only member of this group in 2012.
