Earth Hour 2025

Temenos proudly joined the global Earth Hour 2025 movement, showing that small actions can spark meaningful change. In Shanghai and other offices around the world, we switched off lights to raise awareness about energy conservation and took part in nature-based activities, such as a refreshing walk, to reconnect with the Earth and reflect on how we can protect our planet—together.

Reforesting for Biodiversity and Climate Resilience

Reforesting for Biodiversity and Climate Resilience

In March 2025, Temenos employees and their families partnered with the NGO Plantăm Fapte Bune to plant 400 trees in Boboc, Buzău, Romania. This local reforestation effort supports biodiversity and contributes to climate resilience through practical, community-led action.

Where Innovation Meets Sustainability

In a bid to make waves beyond the banking sector, Temenos has embarked on an exciting journey towards sustainability through a tree planting initiative. Since 2021, we have partnered with Grow-Trees to plant 35,000 trees, helping tackle climate change, improve biodiversity, and provide employment for villagers (Telangana and Tamil Nadu) in India. In 2024, at TKO in Dubai, attendees weren’t just discussing cutting-edge banking solutions; but they had the chance to participate in this initiative by “adopting” one of the planted trees. These trees will continue to thrive for years to come, absorbing carbon dioxide, improving air quality, and providing employment opportunities for local communities.

Through nine insightful internal meetings and our first-ever co-hosted environmental event with our partner, the team delved into critical environmental topics such as mass extinction, minimalism, e-waste, green building, biodiversity, plastic pollution, climate change, environmental health, toxic ingredients and “green” holidays. These discussions and activities fostered a deeper understanding of these pressing issues and inspired Temenosians to take action for a more sustainable future.
