Adopt-iT: India CSR Program
Our Vision
Our vision is to find ways to use technology and our resources to enable social change, by supporting disadvantaged local communities, improving their lives, work skills and capabilities, encouraging gender equality and inclusive education for all and helping them gain access to finance, health and jobs. Our Adopt-iT program focuses on India, a material location for Temenos as it represents 68% of our total employee concentration.

2023
We built a Sensory Lab at Kumaran Special School in Ennore, equipped with audio-visual equipments, to assist in meeting the individual learning needs and enhancing coping skills for children with special needs.
We have awarded an additional 196 need- and merit-based scholarships to students pursuing Bachelor of Engineering and Bachelor of Technology across six universities and colleges in Tamil Nadu, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to 671 students to date.
We installed 8 girls’ restrooms, including facilities for those with physical disabilities, to ensure girls stay in school, fostering their continued education and providing equal opportunities
In collaboration with the Government of Karnataka, we donated 10 retrofitted electric vehicles to individuals with disabilities, fostering sustainability and accessibility.
At SOS Villages in Bangalore, we set up a solar-powered Smart Tech Lab and Innovation Training Room for 50 students, actively promoting IT education and inspiring students to pursue STEM careers.
Temenos remains committed to the ‘Adopt a Kid – India’ Education Support Program, extending support to 159 children from underprivileged backgrounds this year. With employee contributions matched by Temenos, we are empowering these children to build brighter futures for themselves and their families.

In a heartwarming gesture of inclusivity, Temenosians once again demonstrated their commitment to supporting those with visual impairments by volunteering as scribes during semester examinations.
Temenosians participated in a series of races in Chennai to raise awareness for Type-1 Juvenile Diabetics and donate to the Type-1 Diabetic Foundation.
2022
We provided additional 141 need and merit-based scholarships to qualifying 2nd, 3rd and 4rt year students at Anna University College of Engineering in Chennai, totaling 279 scholarships up-to-date.
We built a new solar-powered computer lab and a high-tech training room at Lady Willingdon School to educate and motivate students follow STEM careers.
Our team provided a new solar-powered computer lab in Chennai Senior High School, fully equipped to introduce computer science students to programming languages.

Temenos India has provided a robust 50-kW rooftop Solar plant at Anna University, “greenifying” their Data Center. The 114 paneled Solar infrastructure is designed to generate 1469 kW, reducing Anna University’s carbon footprint.
Temenos Adopt-iT volunteers continued to teach and educate secondary students on computer basics and advanced programming languages. Our employees spent over 230 hours with Adopt-iT students from 8 Government schools.
To create solutions to contemporary problems for a sustainable future, Temenos held a 36-hour Hackathon with themes such as Sustainable Banking, Fintech, Modern Defense, and many more. 60+ teams (>180 participants) presented their ideas, innovations, and technical advancements in the diverse fields.
2021
We built two more solar-powered computer labs to Lady Willingdon Girls School and Chennai Higher Secondary School in Chennai.
We made a difference in the lives of children in youth with special needs at Kumaran Special School by building a Sensory Lab to support the individual learning requirements.
As part of our environmental responsibility program, we built a larger training room and added solar panels at the first computer lab we established at MCN High School in Chennai.
We provided additional 140 need and merit-based scholarships to qualifying 2nd, 3rd and 4rt year students at Anna University College of Engineering in Chennai, totaling 278 scholarships up-to-date.
Temenos Adopt-iT volunteers continued to train and educate children, both on-site and remotely due to the Covid-19 emergency. Our employees spent over 170 hours with Adopt-iT students as they adjusted to the new normal, encouraging them to pursue their objectives and achieve progress in their lives.
Since the onset of Covid-19, we helped as many kids and families as possible. We provided “New normal and happiness” preventative kits to around 6.500 students and 400 employees from ten government schools and two government education offices in Chennai and Bangalore.
We also provided Covid-19 related medical supplies to seven hospitals in Chennai, Bangalore, and Hyderabad, assisting over 10.000 individuals.
In 2017, we established “Adopt a Kid – India” a long-term Education Support Program in which Temenos employees supported the education of children from low-income households. This year we helped 110 kids, while Temenos matched all employee contributions with an additional donation.
2020
We built two solar-powered computer labs to Madras Progressive Higher Secondary school and Mary Clubwala Jadhav Girls Higher Secondary School in Chennai.
We provided 92 need and merit-based scholarships to qualifying 2nd and 3rd year students of Anna University College of Engineering in Chennai.
Temenos Adopt-iT volunteering took a new dimension as our employees, despite the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, continued coaching and teaching the students virtually. Adapted to the new normal, our people dedicated more than 500 hours to be next to the students of the Adopt-iT schools, to close the digital divide and eliminate the homework gap and to continue to inspire these students to pursue their dreams and progress in their lives.
We provided Covid-19 preventative kits to the students of the Adopt-iT schools that we support in India and additional kits to ten more Government schools and two Government Education Headquarters in Chennai and Bangalore, India.
2019
We provided 46 need and merit-based scholarships to 2nd year Anna University College of Engineering in Chennai.

It was with enormous pride that I saw first-hand the impact of the invaluable work of Temenos volunteers in India – supplying school children with modern IT equipment and encouraging them to stay in school as part of our global CSR program, Adopt iT.
Employee Engagement and Volunteering
Our Temenos employees volunteer their time and skills during the initial phase to help with the setup of the computer labs, as well as throughout the year, by providing basic IT skills training to the students, as well as tutoring to those who need it.
