GENEVA, Switzerland – MARCH 10, 2021 – Temenos (SIX: TEMN), the banking software company, today announced that it has received a Bronze Class distinction in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2021, an annual report of companies with the best performance in sustainability.

Temenos ranked as a sustainability leader and in the top five companies in the software industry category alongside Adobe, Microsoft, NortonLifeLock and SAP. Temenos was also awarded Industry Mover status in recognition of recording the strongest year on year score improvement in the software industry.

Companies in the Yearbook are selected for inclusion based on their results in the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), the foremost global sustainability benchmark. A record number of companies participated in this year’s CSA, which indicates that sustainability is becoming increasingly important on corporate agendas.

The S&P Global CSA is the basis of the world’s most renowned ESG indices, including The Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) and The S&P ESG Index. In November 2020, Temenos ranked as a sustainability leader in the Software and Services category in the DJSI World Index for the second year running and in the DJSI Europe Index for the first time.

Temenos communicates its non-financial performance annually in the CSR Report within its Annual Report, using the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards. As of 2021, Temenos will map existing GRI reporting to SASB metrics, offering an additional viewpoint on its non-financial performance based on the SASB standards. It has endorsed the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) and supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It is included in the SXI Switzerland Sustainability 25® Index, among the 25 Swiss stocks from the SMI® Expanded Index with the best sustainability scores. Temenos has also been included in the FTSE4Good Index Series and been rated as PRIME by ISS ESG Corporate Rating for its sustainability performance. Temenos also obtained gold recognition by EcoVadis for its CSR performance. In 2021, Temenos will start reporting in accordance with SASB standards offering an additional viewpoint on its non-financial performance based on a different standard. It is also a member of the World Economic Forum, confirming its commitment to furthering the sustainable development impact agenda.
