In an effort to recognize and celebrate our talented colleagues, we’d like to share some inspirational stories from their time at Temenos, from previous employment and from their personal lives too.
1.When did you join Temenos? Tell us about your role.
I joined Temenos India in 1999 as a Developer, further exploring several roles within the local Product teams until 2006 when I was offered the opportunity of moving to London.
Currently I am the Chief Product Architect or in simple terms, together with my team I am responsible for ensuring that the solutions we build across Products are coherent and joined up. In order to achieve that, I coordinate a team of 18 – 20 Senior Product Architects.
2. What do you think makes Temenos unique (as an employer)? What made you join the company?
The truth about how I joined Temenos is that at that time I needed a decent job that I could get hold of. Even so, it has always been quite important that I enjoy the work I do.
The mix of cultures, people, the experiences and most importantly the kind of challenges we tackle, are just some examples of things I enjoy about the company, but it’s still hard to put my finger on something specific as the reason why I am still with Temenos after 20 years and continue to enjoy my work.
Having grown with the organization, now it is more about how we handle our success.
3. What do you enjoy the most at Temenos?
I get enormous satisfaction in doing anything that directly or indirectly helps a customer, irrespective of how small or large that is, whether or not it fits my current role. If I can contribute at solving a problem for the company and our customers, I am in, therefore I am available at any time to have a look at code, debug, discuss defect, brainstorm on futuristic ideas, etc.
Having the liberty to do that in Temenos is what I enjoy the most.
4. If you were to describe working at Temenos in a single phrase, what would that be?
‘Orderly chaos’ and that is a good thing by the way because it reflects life!
5. If you think about the future, what do you look forward to in your journey at Temenos?
As we are already leaders in our market, it will be interesting to observe how we will continue our success and pace of growth.
6. What does the “See Different” Value mean to you and how do you relate to it?
Though it’s hard to articulate what it really means, I consider it as a way of living. It is clarity, conviction and persistence in going after what we believe is right for the company.
Furthermore, I remember an advice received a while ago from a great man and that would perfectly fit this value…‘There will be several ways of doing something and you will be presented with different options. Always pick the one that does right by the client’.
