Industry Recognition,
Temenos – Company
  • A ‘Global Power Seller’ for new business deals for 12 consecutive years, with 65 new deals in 2017
  • A ‘Top Global Player’ for 6 consecutive years, signing 172 deals with new and existing customers
  • The results reflect a rise in end-to-end digital banking, with increased focus on transactional capabilities including core banking, lending, payments and deposits

GENEVA, Switzerland – April 9, 2018 – Temenos (SIX: TEMN), the banking software company, has been named as a Global Power Seller by Forrester based on the firm’s Global Banking Platform Deals Survey 2018[1]. Temenos was also named a Top Global Player for combined deals, which measures new and extended business across the regions of the world.

Forrester’s Global Banking Platform Deals Survey 2018, an independent survey conducted by Forrester annually, assesses both the volume and the geographical spread of banking platform sales to new and existing customers for 2017 deals. The research is published to guide decision-makers at financial institutions around the world in effectively evaluating the plethora of banking software solutions available. The survey shows which vendors are able to expand their market footprint year-over-year. The Forrester findings reveal that, while banks previously invested heavily in digital channels, now they are focusing more on transactional capabilities, with core banking, deposits, lending and payments making up 31% of functionality sold in the 2017 banking platform market.

Jost Hoppermann, Vice President and Principal Analyst, Forrester, stated in the webinar:

“In the past, purchased functionality indicated that banks invested heavily in a notion of digital banking that is limited to digital channels. This has changed. There is a positive element in the deals: the transactional elements that are supporting the end-to-end notion of digital banking (Forrester calls this ‘true’ digital banking) are on the rise. The purchase of directly customer-facing capabilities remained strong at 28% of all functional elements [but lower when compared to the previous year], but at the same point in time transactional capabilities — with 31% of all functional elements — increased when compared with the previous year.”

David Arnott, CEO, Temenos, commented:

“We are proud to be the sole occupant at the top of the Forrester 2017 Global Vendor Pyramid for New Named Deals, and named as a Global Power Seller for 12 consecutive years. We ended 2017 in a very strong position, with over 3,000 clients and some key landmark deals including tier one banks such as Santander’s Openbank, and Itaú, This is a testament to our ability to consistently execute at a very high standard year after year, and to our business model where we invest 20% of our revenues in R&D; more than any of our peers. We see a clear shift in the market, as forward-thinking banks are realizing that the only way to offer a rich, engaging and personalized experience is to become digital to the core and we feel best placed to continue helping our clients in their journey to transform banking.”
