Dubai – April 12, 2016 – Temenos (SIX: TEMN), the software specialist for banking and finance, announces that Bridge, a mobile payment platform, finished first place in its Middle East and Africa regional Innovation Jam in Dubai.
The event – held at The Fridge, Al Serkal Avenue’s award winning venue – saw 10 FinTech companies from the UAE, India, KSA, Egypt, Ghana and the UK compete for a place in the grand final, to be held at Temenos Annual Community Forum, to be held in Barcelona on 17-19 May.
At the event, which uses the same format across the world, FinTech ‘jammers’ had the opportunity to pitch their products and solutions to renowned financial institutions and visionary bankers from the region. Conveying the strength of their value proposition in just 7 minutes through a live demo on stage is no easy feat. However, Mousa Bedias, CEO and Founder of @bridgtheapp, managed to win the audience with his meticulous style and successful demonstration of what his company has to offer the banking community.
Bridg is a mobile payment platform that allows smartphones to process transactions regardless of connectivity. The Bridg solution works as both a standalone product as well as a SaaS solution for retailers, enterprises, financial institutions, airlines, NGOs and many more. The patent-pending technology enables smartphone transactions to finally become as ubiquitous as cash. The platform is processor agnostic and connects to existing processors such as gateways, digital wallets and block-chain operators.
This is what Mr. Beidas of Bridg had to say about his experience at the Temenos Innovation Jam, Dubai:
“The Temenos presence in the region is playing a pivotal role in the education and advancement of the financial landscape. It offers businesses like Bridg a rare opportunity to showcase and validate our product with the rest of the financial ecosystem.”
“The FinTech Innovation Jams provide a unique opportunity for each for us to engage, identify and partner with the hottest FinTech companies in the world. Through the Temenos MarketPlace, FinTech companies get access to the more than 2,000 financial institutions running our software, who serve more than 500 million banking customers. Our clients in turn get access to cutting-edge innovation, making it a true win-win situation,”
said Ben Robinson, CMO for Temenos.
The winner will compete against the finalists from the innovation jams held in Miami, Singapore, and London.
