GENEVA, Switzerland, 23 April 2015 – Temenos Group AG (SIX: TEMN), the market leading provider of mission-critical software to financial institutions globally, today announces that Forrester Research has once again named it as both a “Global power seller” and a “Top global player” in its recent report “Global Banking Platform Deals in 2014”.
The independent survey, conducted annually, assesses both the volume and the geographical spread of banking platform sales to new and existing customers. Forrester defines a banking platform as “a comprehensive, but basically modular, pre-integrated set of banking applications that is designed to cover traditional areas of banking like retail and corporate banking. In particular, it contains a core banking system as well as omnichannel functionality.” In 2014, Forrester evaluated more than 1,400 deals submitted by 32 vendors to arrive at its rankings for new name and extended business sales.
For the 10th consecutive year, Forrester awarded Temenos the highest status of “Global Power Seller” in its ranking of sales to new name customers. In order to be named a “Global Power Seller”, vendors must record more than 35 new name deals across more than six regions of the world. Temenos was the only vendor to achieve the status of “Global Power Seller”.
In addition, Temenos was also the only vendor to be awarded the status of “Top Global Player” in respect of sales to both new and existing customers, with 124 deals, 19% more than the next highest vendor. To qualify as “Top Global Player” vendors must evidence at least 75 customer sales in a minimum of six regions. This is the third year that Forrester has examined both new and existing sales and the third year that Temenos has been the sole recipient of the “Top Global Player” award.
The publication of the Forrester report on global banking platform sales follows the recent publication of the International Banking System’s annual league table of core banking sales to new customers, which also shows Temenos as the best-selling vendor in 2014, selling almost one in four core banking systems.
David Arnott, CEO of Temenos, commented:
“The findings from this Forrester report are pleasing. They show that Temenos is a market leader not just in core banking software, but across mission-critical banking software in general. They also show how enduring our leadership has been, which we put down to a simple formula. We invest more than our competitors on R&D, helping us to lead innovation in our market and, as a result, deliver the highest levels of customer success. This is also why, as the report shows, we generate such high levels of repeat business.”
