Tim Harrington

Global Competency Leader for Management Consulting

One of Temenos’s first 250 employees, Tim passed away in 2021. Neal McLoughlin, Director of Global Consulting Services, is one of those who worked alongside him and knew what he brought to the company.

“If you had a big client who was going to do some major implementation thinking, you rang Tim. He had so much knowledge that he was always ready to share.”

“Tim was one of life’s sharers,” he explains. “He was one of our global experts, the top two percent in services who we keep available as their knowledge is so valuable that we want them to share it to mentor and coach our people. So if we put Tim on a project we would wrap our people around him to absorb his approach and experience. He was very good at that.”

Tim was involved in some of the company’s biggest programs, often multi-year projects that brought different software together on a single platform. He was known as the architect of Process Led Workshops, thanks to his ability to work through the intricate details of banking processes with clients, finding the most effective ways for them to operate—and with endless good humor and grace.

“People would always ask for his details as they wanted to stay in touch with him afterwards,” says Neal. “That was obviously because of his knowledge, but also because he was such a decent guy.

“Tim was one of those people who knew how to consult. He understood how banks work rather than just how our software works, and he could explain things in the customer’s language to take them on the journey and see the return they would make on their investment.

Tim first joined Temenos’s services team in 1999 in customer support before moving to services as a senior business consultant and project manager. He left the company briefly to work as a banking consultant before rejoining in 2009 and rising to become a client business architect, in Expert Services. He would be at the forefront of planning an implementation, as a trusted adviser of the customer.
