Optimizing Your Page’s Visibility

Introduction to Yoast

At the bottom of the page, you are going to find the Yoast plugin which assists with optimizing your content by providing on-the-spot SEO analysis of your content.

Focus Keyphrase

The focus keyword – or keyphrase – is the search term that you want your page to rank for most. So when people search for that phrase, they should find you. Yoast SEO has its own input field for this. The plugin evaluates the page’s content and provides feedback on how to improve the content for that focus keyphrase.

It is recommended to use a maximum of four relevant keywords for your focus keyphrase.

Creating an Engaging Snippet

Yoast gives you the ability to customize the snippet that appears in Google search results, providing an analysis of how long your on-page title and meta description should.

SEO Title

An SEO title is a short page title allows you to add a trigger for a visitor from Google to click to your website.

By default, an SEO title is populated by a predefined (title) (page) (separator) (site title).

For consistency, it is recommended to use the default SEO title. However, if need be, the SEO title can be fully customized.

Meta Description

In the snippet preview, you can set a meta description. Make an effort and write a meta description that clearly reflects what your post or page is about. Let people know they’ll find what they’re looking for on your site and entice them to click the link.

Make sure you add a meta description that includes the focus keywords. People searching for that term on Google may see this in search results.

How to Use the Readability Analysis

The readability analysis uses an algorithm to determine how readable your post is. It features several checks that’ll give you advice when you write your post. In other words, by following the advice, you can make your text easier to read and understand.
