Bank of Kigali Plc

Increasing financial inclusion in Rwanda to reach one million customers

Kigali, Rwanda

Established in 1966, Bank of Kigali Plc has grown to become Rwanda’s largest retail and commercial bank. To enable the rapid product and service innovation that will attract new accounts from the younger generation and the unbanked population, Bank of Kigali will deploy Temenos T24 Transact and Temenos Payments. These solutions will streamline and automate the bank’s processes and offer next-generation core banking capabilities, including advanced analytics, reporting, risk and compliance. Additionally, integrated operations will allow the bank to build a 360-degree view of its customers, helping it create new offerings fully aligned with demand. The Temenos project represents a key step in Bank of Kigali’s growth strategy, which aims to expand the bank’s customer base to one million people by 2021.

“We are excited to expand our relationship with Temenos, which will form the foundation to drive our three-year digital transformation strategy. Temenos’ cloud-native and cloud-agnostic banking software will help reduce deployment costs and drive simplicity and efficiency of operations. The new open digital banking platform will enable us to gain a deeper understanding of our customers’ needs and allow us to provide the best-in-class customer experience.”
