25 years of seeing things differently by Andreas Andreades

People often ask me What gets me up in the morning when I’m doing and continue to do what I’m doing after 25 years. And I’ve often said that for me personally and I know for quite a lot of other people in Temenos, we’ve made our lives synonymous with the success of banking.

And in the same way that we’ve played a major role in the development of banking the last 25 years. I want to see us being able to redefine, continue to redefine the way banking is done for the 21st century. And that I think, would be worthy cause for the next 25 years. It’s big where the and I think we will get each one of each one of us out of bed in the morning.

We always looked at things differently. And if you think about it, to flourish in business, you have to we always believed in in in product, in packaging product for banks. Banks have historically been developing their own software. We believe believed an integrated software product that could handle the entire needs of the bank from a single technology. That passion to do business with integrity, with entrepreneurialism, never to give up, without arrogance, without complacency, and always trying to put our clients business at the top of what we are doing.

We kept investing in the product in a significant way for good or for bad, even in the most difficult days. We did not stop making the right decisions for the product. We always believed that safeguarding our clients’ interests from technology obsolescence was a key proposition to how we do business in one of the most important deliverables, if you like, to our clients, has been this that throughout this 25 years, our product still remains very fresh.

It is something that is something that people look at it with a lot of a lot of interest.

People always ask me whether there was a master plan, okay? And there was absolutely no master plan because for quite some time it was survival. It was every day big, every day as it comes, survive the day and go on to the next. So I was surprised by the success we’ve had and the impact we’ve had. Perhaps certainly sometimes I pinch myself and I’m thinking, wow, you know, is this for real?

And yeah, I think it is for you.

It’s all about innovation. We’ve always considered ourselves innovative. It was trying for relentless innovation, bringing to the market new product, new ways of doing things, new solutions, and being ahead of the market, being way ahead of the market. And as I said earlier, not being either complacent or arrogant about product superiority. Product superiority is something that you have today, but you lose tomorrow.

If you don’t if you don’t look after your product. So, it is about continuing to innovate and bring to the market solutions and product that our clients demand and finding solutions to complex problems. Technology is evolving. Technology is moving very quickly and we are not only we have the traditional way of saying it would be we have to move quickly now.

We don’t have to move quickly. We can take advantage of how quickly technology moves to be ahead of the curve with our innovation. Thousands of people today live their lives around our products and our solutions. I hope that the next 25 years as a community, we can maintain the same working relationship and the same basis of trust that we have developed so far to lead us and and deliver success for everybody.

First, you deal with the people that that run the software within banks, and there’s hundreds of thousands of those maybe there’s even a million people today touching the software every day. And that that that gives you immense pride to know that so many people have created that jobs and careers and lives around the use of the software.

And then, of course, it’s how you redefined banking every day, people going about their own banking business, making their lives easier. And it’s quite something that’s quite something. You know, 25 years is it’s certainly a long time and certainly a lot of us are a little bit older than we were 25 years ago. So, there is certainly that.

But think about age. But from my perspective, I’m as excited about doing what I’m doing today as I was 25 years ago. And I know that that’s the case with a lot of other people. And so retaining that that keeping that passion for business and, and that desire to get things done and I think is vital, is fundamental in business.

Without it, you cannot do it without it. You are 25 years old as opposed to 25 years young. Wherever you may be, I’d like to thank you for everything you are doing for Temenos. Whether you have been with Temenos for 25 years or whether you’ve been with Temenos for one day, it does not really matter. I hope you embrace the journey, and you feel good.
