Terms and Conditions

Registration for and participation at Temenos SCALE Online 2020 (the “Event”) are subject to the below terms and conditions (the “Terms and Conditions”). By  completing  and submitting your registration for Temenos SCALE Online 2020, through this Event Registration Site  and  checking  “I  have  read  and  agree  to  the Terms  and  Conditions”, You  agree  to  accept  and  abide  by  these Terms and Conditions and  all  amendments  thereto  and  decisions  of  Temenos. “Temenos” means Temenos Headquarters SA (with its registered office at 2 Rue de L’Ecole-de-Chimie, 1205 Geneva, Switzerland) and its affiliates.


You may only register for and attend the Event in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. To register for the Event, You must complete the Event registration process. The Registration form becomes a binding agreement between Temenos Headquarters SA and You once You submit the Registration.  Sharing Your Registration with another person(s) is not permitted and may result in Your access to the Event being terminated. 

For Temenos Developer Events, Temenos may require You to register with the Temenos Developer Community (Base Camp) to enable You to participate in interactive elements of the Event (such as Hands on Labs and Q&A sessions and/or to make use of Temenos Developer tools). You agree to comply with the applicable terms of use for use of the Base Camp and Temenos Developer tools.


Registration for the Event is exclusively open to representatives from Temenos customers, prospective customers, certified business partners, MarketPlace providers, representatives from sponsoring companies and other persons invited by Temenos.

Registrations are subject to sanction checks. Any organisation or individual that does not meet the criteria/terms of the sanction check will not be granted access to attend the Event and their Registration will be immediately terminated and any registration fee that has been paid (if applicable) will be refunded.

Submission of a Registration shall not be deemed as an automatically confirmed registration. A Registration to the Event will be confirmed once participant registration is validated by Temenos via e-mail. Temenos reserves the right to decline a Registration in its sole discretion.


By attending this Event, You acknowledge and agree that Temenos has the right to photograph, video and/or produce any other form of recording of the Event and materials at its own discretion but subject to all applicable laws, in particular but not limited to any and all personal data protection regulations. Temenos may use such materials (including images, audio and/or video) for its legitimate purposes in internal and external communication, such as on its websites and intranet and other Temenos publications (“Materials”) for promotional and marketing activities and for any other lawful purposes in the ordinary course of its business, without compensation or acknowledgment. You understand that the Materials may be substantially edited, altered, rearranged or modified. To the maximum extent permitted by law, You hereby waive any moral rights you may have in the Materials.


You further undertake not to disclose to third parties and not to use, except for purposes envisaged by these terms and conditions, confidential information, such as for instance technical information, Temenos products and services, Temenos developer tools, advertising or financial details, business information, know how, administrative and operative information, personal works, current or future projects or strategies of Temenos and of the other participants at the Event. All information provided under the Event is deemed confidential information and shall be used by You solely for Your personal training and awareness.


Any of Your personal data collected by Temenos when You register or during the Event will be handled in accordance with Temenos’s Privacy Policy https://www.temenos.com/legal-information/privacy-policy/ and applicable data privacy laws and regulations.   Temenos or its suppliers may track your attendance to sessions, virtual exhibit booths and other activities during the Event using web enabled technologies. This is used to help us improve our future events and make sure our content is relevant for You.

If You consent to allow an Event Sponsor to receive Your personal data from Temenos when You register or if You share such personal data with any Event Sponsor during the Event, You acknowledge that such data will be handled by Event Sponsor subject to their privacy policy. We may share Your use of an Event Sponsor’s content if you consented for Event Sponsors to receive Your personal data. 


Temenos strives to provide a safe, enjoyable and rewarding event and expects all participants, to be considerate to each other. It is therefore a condition of attendance that all Event participants agree that:


1. You will behave in a way as to create a safe and supportive environment for all Temenos virtual events (webinar, live streams, etc.) participants (including Temenos employees, moderators, attendees, vendors, sponsors, speakers, and guests).

2. You will not engage in disruptive speech or behaviour or otherwise interfere with the virtual event or other individuals’ participation in the event.

3. You will behave at all times in a way that does not adversely affect Temenos, the management and the general character of the event, or act in a way that could adversely affect Temenos’ name, interests, business or reputation.

3. You will not engage in any form of harassing, offensive, discriminatory, or threatening speech or behaviour, including (but not limited to)  any statements that would be insulting, threatening, libellous, obscene, offensive to religious, political or ethical beliefs, discriminating or racially oriented, or otherwise infringing any applicable legislation or third party rights.

4. You will refrain from making any statements that would be disrespectful, misrepresenting, or otherwise harmful to Temenos or any third party.

5. You will refrain from sending or posting unsolicited e-mails or internal messages (spam) to other users.

6.  You will comply with the instructions of the moderator and any Temenos or Temenos agency assigned virtual event staff.

7. You will not share Your event registration or log-in details with any other person or make Event content available to any third party.

8. You will not photograph, video or make any other recording of the event.

9. You will comply with all applicable laws.


We expect all virtual Event participants (including Temenos employees, moderators, attendees, vendors, sponsors, speakers and guests) to uphold the principles of these Conduct Rules. These Conduct Rules cover the main virtual event and all related events (social or otherwise).

Breaches of these Conduct Rules may result in:

Temenos’ right to exclude from attendance or remove the participant from the whole or any part of the Event, without any liability, where their presence, behaviour conduct or action, is perceived by Temenos or any person acting with the authority of Temenos, in its absolute discretion:

• to be prejudicial to the safety or wellbeing of others or the proper and enjoyable running of the Event;

• is or is likely to be undesirable or inappropriate;

  • You engage in any form of abusive and unwanted communication, bullying, discrimination, harassment, sexual or otherwise, is unacceptable and will not be tolerated; or

• involves a contravention of these Terms and Conditions.

​ Disqualification from participating in future live and virtual events and from engagement across Temenos blogs, online forums, and social media channels.

Neither Temenos, nor any other person, has any obligation to exclude or remove any person.  In the unlikely event of such an exclusion or removal, no fees (if charged) or other expenses will be reimbursed or refunded to the excluded party and any unpaid fees will remain due and payable to Temenos.

Temenos may make available certain online tools during the Event which contain proprietary materials of Temenos and/or of its suppliers. All rights therein are reserved. Any and all rights, including title, ownership rights, copyright, trademark, patents, and any other intellectual property rights of whatever nature, in the services or products described in these Event Tools, including any associated processes or any derivative works, will remain the sole and exclusive property of Temenos and/or its suppliers.

Where Temenos will be presenting its own technologies or concepts (the “Temenos Technology”), Temenos retain ownership rights in any Temenos Technology.  Participants may from time to time provide to Temenos feedback or suggestions  regarding the Temenos Technology or confidential information of Temenos, which may include suggestions for, or feedback concerning, improvements, modifications, corrections, enhancements, derivatives or extensions, as well as branding ideas (“Feedback”).  

It is agreed that Temenos shall have a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty free, non-exclusive, sub-licensable and transferable right and license to use such Feedback, without any obligation to compensate the participants for providing the Feedback and without attribution in any way.  Temenos and its affiliates may develop improvements, modifications, correction, enhancements, derivatives or extensions (“Improvements”) to the Temenos Technology, and further may also develop branding elements, based on such Feedback, and such Improvements and branding elements, and any intellectual property rights therein, as well as any related intellectual property registrations, shall be owned exclusively by Temenos and/or its affiliates.  You agree to sign such further documents as may be required reasonably to confirm such ownership by Temenos.  


TEMENOS™, TEMENOS T24™ TEMENOS TRANSACT™, and TEMENOS INFINITY™ are registered trademarks of Temenos Headquarters SA.

All other product or company names that may be mentioned at the Event are trade names, trademarks, or registered trademarks of their respective owners.


Temenos reserves the right to make changes without notice to the Event schedule, advertised content of the Event and to substitute speakers at its sole discretion. Temenos does not guarantee the attendance of any virtual sponsor or speaker, or that any scheduled event will take place, particularly in the event of any Force Majeure Event or similar reasons beyond its reasonable control. Temenos will not be liable and no reimbursement will be made in the event of a cancellation or modification of times, dates, sessions or events.

Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in these Terms and Conditions, You acknowledge and accept Temenos’ right to change the Event to alternative dates as Temenos determines in its sole and absolute discretion. If the Event is moved to be held on alternative dates, You agree that these Terms and Conditions shall remain binding upon You.

Temenos will provide You online access to the Event via the Internet by use of an attendee-provided browser. You are solely responsible for obtaining and maintaining at Your own expense, all equipment needed to access the Event, including but not limited to Internet access and adequate bandwidth. You are responsible for ensuring You maintain up to date internet browsers and anti-virus software and shall take all reasonable steps to ensure that you do not introduce any viruses, worms, cancel bots, trojan horses, phishers, trapdoors, spyware or other malicious or harmful code to the Event.


The Event site may contain links to other websites, which are not controlled or maintained by Temenos. Please note that Temenos is not responsible for the content of those sites. The inclusion of such links does not imply any endorsement of these sites.

Temenos is not responsible for the actions or the views of any Event attendees, speakers and sponsors or for the content of their presentations, content and marketing collateral.

Temenos does not control the transfer of data over the internet or any other communications services and is not responsible for any limitations, delays or internet outages.


Temenos reserves the right to cancel the Event for any reason (including Force Majeure) without liability.

Temenos shall not be liable for any default or delays or failure in the performance or interruption of services of its obligations under these Terms and Conditions, resulting directly or indirectly from any cause or circumstance beyond the reasonable control of Temenos if and to the extent such default or delay is caused, directly or indirectly, by: elements of nature or acts of God, war, riots, civil disorders, civil commotion, rebellions or revolutions, national or court or religious mourning, strikes, labour disputes, accidents, government requisitions, restrictions or regulations on travel, facility availability, commodities or supplies, inability to secure sufficient labour, civil disturbance, terrorism or threats of terrorism, transportation, disaster, fire, flood, earthquakes, hurricanes, unseasonably extreme inclement weather, epidemic or threats of epidemic, pandemic, any communicable disease or threat or fear of communicable disease which leads to any travel advisory or warning issued by a national or international body or agency, trade embargoes or sanctions, interruption or failure of telecommunication or digital transmission links, Internet slow-downs or failures, or any other comparable conditions (a “Force Majeure Event”). Where a Force Majeure Event has occurred, Temenos shall be excused from further performance or observance of the obligation(s) so affected for as long as such circumstances prevail and in no event shall Temenos be liable for any consequential, indirect, or incidental damages of any nature or for any reason whatsoever.

You are personally responsible for Your behaviour as an Event participant.  You agree that You will indemnify Temenos against any damages incurred by Temenos as a result of a third party claim arising from Your Event Registration or otherwise in connection with Your participation in the Event, except to the extent such damages were caused directly and solely by Temenos.



The Terms and Conditions and, more generally, all matters relating to registering for or participating in the Event shall be governed by Swiss law and, as regards any claims against Temenos, You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent court of Geneva, Switzerland. Any claims must be brought within one year of the claim arising.


If you no longer wish to receive information about future Temenos events and marketing communications, you may unsubscribe from marketing communications by contacting [email protected]


Waiver by Temenos of a breach of these Terms and Conditions, or of any rights created by or arising under these Terms and Conditions, must be in writing and signed by Temenos and variation of any part of these Terms and Conditions must be in writing and signed by Temenos to be effective.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions will be construed to place the parties in the relationship of partners, joint ventures or fiduciaries, nor may either party act as agent for the other.

No statement or representation about the Event or otherwise concerning the subject matter of these Terms and Conditions may be relied upon by the Attendee unless expressly set out in these Terms and Conditions to the extent permitted at law.

You may not assign Your rights or obligations under these Terms and Conditions.

The Terms and Conditions may be revised at any time by Temenos and the terms are non-negotiable.

By registering to attend this Event you confirm that you have read and agree to these Event Terms and Conditions.
