André Burrell, Strategy Leader – Banking & Capital Markets Financial Crime, Microsoft

André began his career at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York as an attorney on enforcement actions related to Anti-Money Laundering and other compliance lapses. In 2006, André went to work at Deloitte Financial Advisory Services where he was a Senior Manager and led several large-scale projects at domestic and international banks addressing both Anti-money laundering (AML) and OFAC violations and remediation efforts. In 2008, André joined Israel Discount Bank of New York, as an Executive Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer where he led the bank through the lifting of two Cease and Desist Orders and a Deferred Prosecution agreement. In 2015, André joined Microsoft as the Chief Compliance Officer for Microsoft Payments, Inc. In 2017 André switched roles. In his current role, André is applying his extensive experience in banking compliance and risk management programs to enabling financial institutions to use the cloud, artificial intelligence and machine learning to effectively address their compliance and risk management challenges.

André has spoken at numerous domestic and international conferences on topics ranging from conducting effective and efficient transaction monitoring; working effectively with regulators; digital transformation, implementing effective risk management programs, and establishing and maintaining a strong culture of compliance.


Peter Hazou, Director, Business Development, Financial Services Industry Group, Microsoft

Girish leads the transformation office for Banking Financial Services at Cognizant. He is responsible for setting up strategic digital blueprints across banking and capital markets. Girish has 20+ years of extensive experience in delivery, consulting and sales having worked across multiple geographies.

Future of the Core: Customer experience and expectations are continuously evolving in the digital economy and disruptive technologies are forcing banks to take a look at their business models. In the long term, banks will need to unbundle their traditional core platforms in order to achieve agility and nimbleness to respond to emerging challengers as well as meet customer expectations. The traditional core platforms are likely to be unbundled with potential option to carve out key functionality and create an unbundled core. Marlène Meli, Consultant – Financial Crime, Temenos

Marlène is responsible for providing expertise in financial crime mitigation. In her role she works closely with development, sales and marketing to ensure Temenos' Financial Crime solutions stay current with latest regulatory changes. With a background in financial crime mitigation and banking operations, Marlène has 30+ years of experience in the financial industry.


Joël Winteregg, CEO & Co-Founder of NetGuardians

As NetGuardians CEO, Joël Winteregg both guides innovation of NetGuardians core solutions and drives business development, with a focus on Europe and Africa. He has headed the company since 2007, when he co-founded it with Raffael Maio. His business intuition is matched by technical talent – it was Joël's own research that led to the prototype for the company's intelligent behavioral analysis software. As well as almost 10 years as an entrepreneurial business leader, Joël has solid experience in R&D and as a software engineer, including as a security specialist with the Institute for Information and Communication Technologies. He holds both a degree in Software Engineering and a CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) certification.
