- Prestigious recognition by European industry-wide poll -
GENEVA, Switzerland, 26 November 2007 - TEMENOS Group (SWX: TEMN), the provider of integrated core banking systems, is pleased to announce that it has won the Best Core Banking Product category in Banking Technology magazine’s inaugural Readers’ Choice Awards for its modular core banking system TEMENOS T24 (T24).
The awards were presented at a gala dinner at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, with 500 guests present from the financial industry including institutions and technology suppliers. The Readers’ Choice Awards were created to recognise the fact that financial institutions are increasingly turning to independent software providers in search of solutions to a range of issues that would once have meant an expensive bespoke development. Voting through a web-based system, almost 1,000 votes were cast in recognition of the best vendor systems in the market. Temenos was shortlisted along with Misys and i-Flex for the Best Core Banking Product.
“We have been delighted by the response from readers, which exceeded our expectations,” said David Bannister, editor of Banking Technology. “The companies that won in these categories can be justifiably proud that their products and services are known and recognised in the wider market, and I congratulate all of those whose customers and users went out of their way to cast votes.”
Andreas Andreades, CEO of Temenos, commented: “Our consistency in serving our industry over the past 10 years has been recognised with this prestigious award. Our policy to invest substantially in our technology and provide a fully upgradeable annual release sets us apart in today’s core banking market. As such, we protect and future-proof clients’ investment in our software and remove the single biggest risk that banks face, that of technology obsolescence.”
T24 is a functionally rich, scalable, integrated, modular banking system. It is built on open service oriented architecture, and uses established technology standards such as Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) web services, XML and a true stateless browser front end. It offers a single client view across the enterprise and can support large numbers of users with true non-stop resilience. Its fully-integrated architecture enables it to offer a significant cost advantage compared to other competing products. It is the only system available with no end-of-day batch processing and so can genuinely provide real-time 24/7 non-stop banking.
The TEMENOS T24 Model Bank product for the Retail, Private, Corporate & Correspondent, Islamic and Microfinance & Community banking markets, delivers T24 with mostly pre-configured, pre-parameterised features and incorporates a global best practice standard that achieves 50 percent lower implementation time frames. Model Bank and the associated implementation methodology minimises customisation, reduces costs and also brings tighter controls over project scope and deliverables. The overall result is a quick and safe implementation.
