Largest Caribbean banking network selects TEMENOS T24™

14 September 2005

GENEVA, Switzerland –September 14, 2005, TEMENOS Group (SWX: TEMN), a provider of integrated core banking systems, today announced that the RBTT Financial Group a leading Caribbean-owned financial services provider has selected TEMENOS T24™ to replace its legacy core banking systems. RBTT signed in Q2 2005 and will implement the system in all 80 branches in 12 Caribbean jurisdictions.

The RBTT Financial Group owns ten licensed commercial banks with branches located in Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, Barbados, Curaçao and Bonaire, St. Maarten and Saba, Aruba, Suriname, Grenada, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & Bequia in the Grenadines, Antigua and Nevis. The group also includes the leading merchant bank in Trinidad and Tobago with a regional office in Costa Rica, a trust and asset management company, an international financial institution and a stock broking company.

Mr. Jerome Sooklal, Group Chief Executive Officer, RBTT, says: “RBTT’s rapid expansion over the last few years and our goal to be the leading regional financial institution, demands that we maintain a dynamic evolutionary philosophy. Maintaining our leadership and ensuring our continued success requires an ability to reinvent ourselves to stay attuned with our customers and respond to our markets as they evolve. To differentiate from the competition, RBTT should lead the way in improving the level of service in the banking sector. As a first step, we will begin upgrading our technology throughout the region to enhance service delivery to our clients. We note that the literal English translation of TEMENOS - ‘Something of value’ - is in congruence with RBTT’s strategic objective of enhancing both customer and shareholder value. ‘Value’ is thus a shared mantra for both RBTT and TEMENOS, which augurs well for the partnership going forward.”

TEMENOS T24 is a functionally rich, thin client, scalable, integrated, modular banking system. It is built on an open architecture, and uses established standards such as HTTP, XML and J2EE. It offers a single client view across the enterprise and can support huge numbers of users with true non-stop resilience. It offers multiple application server support and is the only system available with no end-ofday batch processing, and so, can genuinely boast of providing real-time 24/7 non-stop banking.

Andreas Andreades, CEO, TEMENOS, says: “By upgrading its core banking systems, the RBTT Group will increase the efficiency of its operations and better serve its customers across the region. Through combining its local expertise with a state-of-the-art technological infrastructure, RBTT will be in an excellent position to fend off competition from global players, many of which still work with legacy fragmented systems.”
