When we decided to go into sponsoring, it was essential for us to select someone who shares and represents the same values and characteristics as Temenos, including: pride in what we do, enthusiasm, innovation, the desire to excel in what we undertake.
We found in Dominique Wavre a passionate man, keen to go where others would not, experienced, whilst being humble, technically brilliant and sufficiently human to explain his ‘art’ in simple terms, to children and adults alike. Like Temenos, Dominique set out with nothing. He represents the same spirit as us, but in the competitive world of sailing, where enthusiasm and technology compete with the forces of nature. Dominique is a source of inspiration to Temenos and vice-versa. Through him, we celebrate human courage, battling against the wind and the waves, the icebergs and other humbling forces of nature, to prove that man is the key to everything.
Integrity is the only voice for resolving problems in an effective manner and inspiring young generations. Dominique and Temenos know the implications of having a dream and being committed body and soul to making it a reality. The number of people who are touched by the accomplishment of this dream is monumental. Dominique receives thousands of letters with drawings from children during the Vendée Globe race. People with all kinds of experiences have come forward to thank me for sponsoring Dominique Wavre, and I thank Dominique for representing the spirit of Temenos.
